Devices that arrive ready and stay in line
Without central management, every laptop is set up by hand, slightly differently, by whoever is available. Updates depend on staff clicking “restart”, disk encryption is hit and miss, and when someone leaves a laptop in a cab there is no way to know what was on it or to wipe it. Personal phones add another layer: company email sits next to family photos, with no rules about what happens when the employee moves on.
We enrol company devices in a management platform, such as Microsoft Intune for Windows, or Apple Business Manager paired with an MDM for Macs and iPhones. A new laptop can then go straight to an employee, who signs in and watches apps, security settings and encryption install automatically. For personal phones we protect the work apps rather than the whole device. It suits hybrid teams, field staff and businesses with people working across Metro Vancouver.
What’s covered
- Zero-touch laptop provisioning New computers are registered to your organization, so they configure themselves with apps, policies and encryption at first sign-in.
- Enrolment of existing devices Laptops and phones already in use are brought under management, without wiping them where the platform allows.
- Security baselines Disk encryption, screen lock, firewall, update rings and local admin restrictions applied the same way on every device.
- BYOD policy and app protection A written policy staff sign, backed by app-level controls that keep work data inside Outlook, Teams and other managed apps.
- Lost or stolen device response Remote lock, locate and wipe for company devices, and selective removal of work data from personal ones.
- Remote access for hybrid staff Files and business apps reachable from home through Microsoft 365 or published apps, keeping a VPN only for systems that truly need one.
- Procurement advice Specs and models recommended for each role, with warranty and lifecycle in mind; you buy from whichever supplier you prefer.
- Offboarding and device returns When someone leaves, their sign-in is disabled, the laptop comes back and is wiped, and it is reissued or retired with the asset record updated.

Common questions
Can a new laptop be shipped straight to a remote employee?
Yes, once your organization is set up for automatic enrolment. The device is registered to your company, the employee unboxes it and signs in with their work account, and apps, settings and security policies install over the internet. We test the profile on a pilot machine first so the first sign-in goes smoothly.
Will the company be able to see my personal photos and messages?
No. With app protection on a personal phone, the company manages only work apps such as Outlook and Teams. It can require a PIN, block copying work data into personal apps and remove work data if you leave, but it cannot see your photos, texts or browsing. We help you explain this to staff in plain terms.
What happens if a company laptop is lost or stolen?
Report it right away. We can lock the device, show its last check-in location where that is enabled, and wipe it remotely the next time it connects. Because the disk is encrypted and sign-in is protected by MFA, the data is very hard to reach in the meantime. We also reset the user’s password and review recent sign-ins.
Do we need Microsoft 365 Business Premium for device management?
For Windows devices, Business Premium is the usual route for small businesses because it bundles Intune with conditional access and endpoint security. Apple devices can be handled through Apple Business Manager paired with an MDM. We look at your current licences before recommending changes; see Microsoft 365 support.
Can you set up a laptop we have already bought?
Yes. Drop it off with us or have us set it up at your office; either way we enrol it, install apps, apply security settings and move the user’s files from their old machine. One-off laptop setups are $149 per device.
